For example, while AI can optimize clinical trials, the ethical review of patient consent and data usage remains strictly under the purview of medical ethics regulations, which are often more stringent in countries like Germany or France than in other regions.

In Robotics, the concept of “embodied AI” raises questions about physical safety and interaction with vulnerable persons (e.g., care robots). The ethical requirement for “safety” here is physical, not just digital. The machinery regulation and the AI Act overlap here.
